Make a Pledge to Myself: Still saying no to soft drinks
A little more than year ago I kicked off this idea of making a change every day for a week by giving up soft drinks. My goal, specifically, was to give up caffeinated soft drinks.
I've done this before for several months at a time, only to have an occasional Coke or Dr Pepper, which would end up leading to having a few week.
Last year, though, it finally stuck. Aside from ginger ale when I had a stomach virus earlier this year, I've had no caffeinated soft drinks. That's 366 days ... and counting. At the time of my original post, my goal was to get through March and not have any. I chose along the way to stay away from them completely.
Today isn't about starting something new or expanding things I already do. Today is about making a pledge to continue not drinking soft drinks and making a healthy choice every day that I hope leads to other healthy choices. And if this definitely becomes an annual thing that I do, I guarantee this will always make the list.
